Our Story

Since 1946, Columbia Block & Brick has been South Mississippi’s trusted source for quality building materials and masonry products. Founded in downtown Columbia, Mississippi by J.D. Pickett and his son-in-law Ray Pittman, we are proud to be the oldest continuously owned and operated block plant in the state. Now based in Hattiesburg, our legacy continues with the same strong foundation of values we started with: dependable service, honest work, and unmatched product knowledge.

What started as a small-town block plant has grown into a full-service building material store, serving homeowners, contractors, and DIYers throughout the Gulf South region. Our used bricks are reclaimed and recycled from old industrial buildings dating back to the 1860s to 1920s, such as textile manufacturers, cotton gins, leather factories, and old warehouses.
What types of outdoor furniture do you provide?
We offer a great selection of patio sets, benches, chairs, and tables designed for comfort, style, and durability, with many pieces available for same-day delivery.

What types of concrete blocks and bricks does Columbia Block and Brick offer in Hattiesburg, MS?
